The ‘Scary Movie’ franchise is making a big comeback, and fans of the cult parody series have plenty to cheer about. Actors Anna Faris and Regina Hall, who became fan favorites as Cindy and Brenda, are officially returning for the next instalment of the comedy-horror spoof.

The news was confirmed by Marlon Wayans himself on Instagram, where he shared a nostalgic throwback picture of Faris and Hall from the very first film.

In a joint statement, Faris and Hall expressed their excitement. “We can’t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and reunite with our great friends… Keenen, Shawn, and Marlon, three men we’d literally die for (in Brenda’s case, again),” they said.

The film is going to hit theatres on June 12, 2026. What makes this reboot more special is that the Wayans Brothers Keenen, Shawn, and Marlon reunite after 18 years. They are going to pen an original script for the franchise. They will co-write and produce the project along with longtime collaborator Rick Alvarez.

The executive producers on board are Jonathan Glickman, Alexandra Loewy, and Thomas Zadra.

The ‘Scary Movie’ series first began in 2000. Keenen Ivory Wayans directing and writing the film alongside Shawn and Marlon. The film became a surprise smash, earning more than $278 million worldwide.

Known for its hilarious jabs at popular horror titles like ‘Scream’, ‘The Blair Witch Project’, and ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’, it quickly became one of the most successful parody films of its time.

The original cast included Anna Faris, Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Carmen Electra, Shannon Elizabeth, and Dave Sheridan.
